The Red Thread

Once our eyes have been opened we can't pretend that
we don't know what to do; for God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls
knows that we know and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs

Iris Is Wound Up

This afternoon Iris took a good nap and the Pierce family came over at 4:30.  We decided to eat dinner in the hotel.  Dinner was good and the kids did well.  Iris however became very wound up.  After visiting in the restaurant for a while we returned to our room.  In the room Iris was out of control trying to get Ben to play with her and then she started hitting people and screaming and laughing.

About 8:00 the Pierces left and Iris took a bath.  This settled her down and it was time for bed.  Attached are a few more photos.

  1. I'm praying the communication gap will lessen quickly. Once Iris gets around her siblings she will want to communicate!
Speaking of communicating..how were you eating..with your toes? That is too funny and weird that natives would just stand and stare at you while you were eating.
Thanks for the photos each and every day, I know this is not easy or quick, so thanks.

  2. Nick & I enjoyed seeing you and getting to talk with you via Skype....what a wonderful thing! Nick was so excited to see Iris "live and in action!!" He just kept saying how precious she is! Iris has already stolen our hearts and we haven't even held her yet! How great is our God!!
Isaiah 6:3.....Holy, Holy, Holy are You Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of Your Glory.
I stand in awe before Him for the glorious things He has done and is doing!! He has given us a new song of praise unto Him!!!

  3. Hey just following up on your blog. Sarah (my wife) has been reading the blog as well. Keep the photos coming as we are enjoying reading your experiences and looking at the photo's. Iris looks like a doll! Leaving kids at home for an extended time is the hardest, but you'll be home soon enough.

  4. Hang in there! You'll soon be in GZ. It took Caleb 4 days to cry for the first time and begin to grieve. Although he didn't hit or scream, he was certainly trying to process the whole transition, even though he is quite like Iris- very social...and laughed EVERYTHING off. He tried to make everything funny. That was his way of coping. It's still so hard for their little minds to understand. Continuing to pray for you all!

  5. Love...love...love the pictures and updates. Great to see Ben and Iris having so much fun. Wow, what energy Iris seems to have. I have a feeling she and Elliot will soon be best buds. Elliot will love her tenacity and Ansley will have fun glamming her up. How lucky Iris will be to have the best of both worlds. Can't wait to meet her!
