It is 5:33am in Kunming and we are leaving to go get "Finn McMissile" in just over 2 hours. We are both ready and can not wait to meet the little man. We went to bed early last night hoping to get some much needed sleep. I think we turned the lights off about 8:00pm. I was wide awake at 12:49am. I went into the office and read my book. Melissa woke at 1:30am and she has been up since - while I was lucky enough to catch about one more hour of sleep before giving up. We are debating if WalMart is open this early so I think we will give it a shot and walk the half mile to find out.
There are several families in our hotel that are adopting children this week. Our agency has us and two other families so we met with them and went to dinner last night. One of the families Melissa had been comunicating with online so it was almost like we knew them. They are adopting their fourth child. The other family is adopting for the first time as they have several biological children with the youngest being 10 years old. They are the "older" people in our group but are listening to God and starting again with a 15 month old. We have been warning them that you can not stop at one!
Well we are heading to WalMart and will post new photos of Finn as soon as we get back to the room this afternoon.
This is our story for bringing our beautiful daughter home from China. We hope you enjoy the journey with us and share in our love for this awesome child God is placing in our family. The story continues as now we are adding a sweet little boy to our family as well. Now the story continues (again) with our next adoption. Not sure of who God will place in our family but we are moving forward and know He has already decided and we will soon find out.
The Red Thread
Once our eyes have been opened we can't pretend that
we don't know what to do; for God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls
knows that we know and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

After waiting SO long, it's hard to believe it's really time for you to have Owen in your arms. Jessica & I were just talking about how all of our lives are forever changed by two precious babies born half way around the world. Oh, the works of His mighty hands!!! I can't quit singing this song:
ReplyDeleteName above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
