Today was another good day for Owen. He continues to open up his little personality and trust his mom and dad. He is turning into an eating machine which is great. He does let you know when he is hungry and we are letting him eat as much as he wants. The little man needs some calories.
Tonight we went to dinner at Lucy's again and he would not stop eating. He loves mashed potatoes and french bread. Along with fish, noodles, and ice cream. FYI - he officially weighed 19 pounds at his doctor visit this week.
This morning we had the consulate appointment and Melissa and I took the offical oath along with about a dozen other families. Tomorrow we will pick up visas and head to Hong Kong. Excited to be heading home soon.
This afternoon we enjyed the great weather and just walked around with another family. We ventured off the typcial tourist pathes and went down some great little streets and enjoyed the culture.
Yesterday we went to the safari/zoo and that was awesome. Owen enjoyed the monkeys and panada bears. We spent most of the day there and loved hanging out with everyone in the group. I had the most fun as I fed the giraffes and a white tiger.
As I mentioned in the last post, we have met some amazing families on this trip. Spoke to the kids today (Elliot and Iris) and they are both sick. We hope they feel better soon and mom and dad are homesick for them. We missed getting to talk to Ansley today as she had yet another performance in the Nutcracker. We are so proud of Ansley.
Enjoy the photos..... Not sure if we will be able to post before we leave.
This is our story for bringing our beautiful daughter home from China. We hope you enjoy the journey with us and share in our love for this awesome child God is placing in our family. The story continues as now we are adding a sweet little boy to our family as well. Now the story continues (again) with our next adoption. Not sure of who God will place in our family but we are moving forward and know He has already decided and we will soon find out.

Once our eyes have been opened we can't pretend that
we don't know what to do; for God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls
knows that we know and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

Congratulations, Melissa! Looks like the travel went smoothly. Your son is just precious - what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteOwen is just so cute! I love seeing him in the pictures! It is so great that he is eating for you. He will put weight on in no time. Piper is going to be three at the end of March and only weighs 19 pounds 10 ounces. She was only 17 pounds when we got her, so we can totally relate to you trying to feed Owen. Unfortunately, Piper doesn't eat well on a consistent basis!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays! I didn't send you a card because I don't have your new address!
