Ok, maybe I am a little crazy, but I have been tracking a package from Beijing to Heartsent (our adoption agency). It has made it to San Franciso today. So I keep hitting the refresh button on my computer hoping to see "delivered to Orinda, CA" Why you may ask? Well, there is a small chance that our TA (travel approval) is in that package. If it is then, we will most likely travel on the 7th and be home BEFORE Christmas.
"WE INTERUPT THIS BLOG TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE OUR TA!"
I just got off the phone with our agency, and our TA come in that package. I can hardly think straight. We will have a confirmed CA (consulate appointment) in the morning.
This is our story for bringing our beautiful daughter home from China. We hope you enjoy the journey with us and share in our love for this awesome child God is placing in our family. The story continues as now we are adding a sweet little boy to our family as well. Now the story continues (again) with our next adoption. Not sure of who God will place in our family but we are moving forward and know He has already decided and we will soon find out.
The Red Thread
Once our eyes have been opened we can't pretend that
we don't know what to do; for God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls
knows that we know and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12

Black Friday
We are getting so close. Hoping for TA on Monday or Tuessday and leave for China around December 7. All prayers welcome that this tentative date will come to be. This would allow us to be home just before Christmas. What an amazing Christmas it would be to have little Owen home for Christmas. We love the song "Celebrate Me Home" by Kenny Loggins and it will be our theme song until Owen is here.
If this date works out then we only have this weekend (Melissa works next weekend) to Christmas shop. So Melissa and I decided to venture out and go shopping Thursday night (Thanksgiving night). We participated in our first standing in line to get a ticket and to get a specific item (can't mention it as the kids do not know). It was as crazy as we thought it would be. Then we got up and went shopping this morning and fought the Black Friday crowds. Hopefully we will never do it again (although it was kind of fun people watching).
Our lives are very crazy right now with the upcoming trip to China, the holidays, school events, ballet practices, basketball practice, and the Nutcracker. Ansley is in the Nutcracker this year and has been practicing for several weeks. Practices are downtown KC and typically last 3-4 hours, every Saturday and Sunday. Now that the performances are close to starting she will have practices on week nights as well. Very big time commitment for Ansley and Mom/Dad (and grandmas and aunt Jennifer - THANKS FOR HELPING). Ansley is very excited to be performing in the new Kauffman Center.
Celebrated Iris's birthday on Thanksgiving and she loved it. Lots of family and friends were over for Thanksgiving and so she had a large crowd to show off for. The day was great and we are very thankful for all of our family and friends that came over.
Things are starting to really get crazy for all of us. Please pray for our travels, grandmas who will be watching the kids and trying to manage this schedule, and for Owen to be prepared to join our family.

In Memory Of Daniel Garcia
Please keep Melissa and her family in your prayers as her father, Daniel, passed away early this morning. He has been battling cancer for a few years and will be missed.
Pray for save travels for the family and friends who will be traveling over the next few days.
